"New Nissan Leaf is central to Nissan's Intelligent Mobility, which is our main strategy for Nissan's future," said Hiroto Saikawa, President and CEO of Nissan, in a written statement on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.
"New Nissan Leaf has better mileage and blends with the evolution of swift driving technologies, such as ProPILOT Park, as well as easy e-Pedal operation, strengthening Nissan's leadership in electric cars and the expansion of the worldwide electric car market," Hiroto Saikawa said.

He added, "This car has many advantages that will be embodied by future models of Nissan."
Technology
New Nissan Leaf has a range of up to 400 km (based on Japanese JC08) that allows drivers to enjoy safer and longer trips. The new E-powertrain delivers Nissan Leaf power of 110 kW and 320 Nm of torque thus enhancing acceleration and driving pleasure.
The newest Leaf also adapts ProPILOT's self-propelled swing technology that works on one lane on the highway. There is also ProPILOT Park which when activated will control the steering, acceleration, braking, shift change and parking brake, and automatically guide the car to the targeted parking area. This allows parking drivers to safely and easily include in parallel parking areas.
The revolutionary e-Pedal technology of the new Leaf is changing the way people drive. e-Pedal allows the driver to start driving, accelerate, slow down and stop, just by raising or lowering the foot pressure on the pedal.
When the accelerator is released completely, the brakes work automatically, so the car will stop completely. Even on steep slopes, the position of the car will remain locked until the gas pedal is pressed again. Excess e-Pedal maximizes the pleasure of driving an electric car.
Exterior-Interior
Nissan Leaf has a sleek design profile that provides a sharp and dynamic look. Nissan's familiar design features can be seen from the typical boomerang-shaped lights and V-motion flow on the front. Blue ornaments on the grille front grille and rear bumper emphasize its identity as Nissan's electric car. The Leaf cabin is redesigned with a focus on the driver, via a gliding wing "front panel. It combines the use of highly efficient space as per function. The new car will be available next month in Japan, followed by the United States (US), Canada and Japan in January 2018. In Japan, Nissan Leaf sold for 3.15 million yen or approximately Rp386, 7 million.
Vice President Director of Marketing and Sales PT Nissan Motor Indonesia Davy J. Tuilan said that Nissan Leaf electric car is very likely to be marketed in Indonesia. "Yes, the possibility exists. We are waiting for the government's policy and infrastructure readiness, "Davy told Tempo, September 7, 2017.
Nissan Leaf is the current leader in electric car sales with sales of more than 280,000 units since it was marketed in 2010. The car is gaining heavy rivals after Tesla launches similar model 3 cars. Chevrolet with Bolt EV is also starting to undermine the Nissan Leaf market. Both Tesla Model 3 and Chevrolet Bolt EV are superior in terms of mileage compared to Nissan Leaf.
