Zarooq Sand Racer

A new automotive company established in early 2015 in UAE (UAE), Zarooq Motors, over the weekend managed to capture the world's attention after announcing it would soon release their inaugural production Zarooq Sand Racer. As the name implies, this car is designed to conquer the off road terrain, especially the desert, but legal to be driven on the regular street, as reported Auto blog, Tuesday (1/12/2015).

"Zarooq SandRacer was created for us to host a single off-road championship, and operate a sand racing track in Dubai," Zarooq Motor Director Mohammed al Qadi said in a press release on the company's official website.

GT Spirit writes that the car was designed by Anthony Jannarelly who also designed the Lykan Hypersport supercar, which featured stunningly in the film Fast Furious 7, and Fenyr Supersport, the first supercar produced in the UAE. Therefore, despite the off-road type, the lines of the supercar looks real on the body of this car. Sand Racer uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine, set by engineers from Campos Racing, capable of producing 300hp power, but they are also planning to issue a 400-500hp version engine for the racing version. The Motor Authority describes the engine mounted behind the cab and power is channeled to the rear wheels using a six-speed automatic transmission. Peak speed is claimed to reach 124 mph (199 km / h).

To conquer the sandy terrain, SandRacer uses a 33-inch off-road BFGoodrich tire mounted on a 15-inch rim.

The car body is made of fiberglass but they also provide carbon fiber versions for those interested. The net weight of this car reaches 950 kg.

This car can be ordered even though the first production is expected to be completed by the end of December 2015 to be introduced to the public in January 2016.

"The chassis is over, the engines and cables are working, we're just waiting for some spare parts to complete in December," said Iannis Mardell, co-founder of Zarooq Motors. "If all goes well, we immediately show it to journalists and then to the general public."
For starters, Autocar speculated, Zarooq will build 20 SandRacer units to be tested in early 2016 with prices starting at USD100,000 (approximately Rp1, 3 billion) per unit.
In addition to building cars, Zarooq Motors was also designing an off-road circuit where the SandRacer will compete. The Dubai script in Arabic will show if the circuit is seen from space.
